Following the adverse weather over the last 3 weeks, heavy rain is now forecast for western parts spreading east to affect most places, with the possibility of falling as snow over higher ground in Scotland and Northern England. The rain will spread from the west during the night to affect all but the extreme east by dawn, with some sleet or snow over high ground. Expect southerly winds to strengthen. Some areas i.e. Scotland and the South Coast are currently experiencing icy patches and excessive surface water as a result of the thaw and rain. Localised flooding may occur as a result of a combination of the thaw and heavy rain.
In response to the adverse weather experienced, the Davies Group can advise as follows:
Davies Loss Adjusting Access around high ground and remote locations has proved difficult however, most areas are now clear. We still continue to receive claims due to burst pipes and weight of snow in addition to flooding caused by snow melt. Claim volumes anticipated to increase due to flooding following the thaw and heavy rain. Additional resources remain focused where required and weekend working agreed where necessary. All visits (where accessible) are being arranged within SLA’s and continued efforts are being concentrated on effective and timely mitigation activity.
Davies Managed Systems & BVU (Buildings Validation Unit) Our surge response plan remains active and additional staffing resource to support the additional workload is in place. Claim volumes have reduced day on day since the main peak of Monday however our present focus remains around the new claims process and inbound call traffic. Additional staff have been authorised for this weekend to start to tackle the backlogs in general WIP within existing caseloads caused by the surge.
Eastwell (Contractor Management) & Davies Response (Disaster Restoration) Response times for both Eastwell & Davies Response are within SLA’s and access to properties is now generally unhindered. Options continue to be offered to meet adjusting, inspection and/or drying personnel on site within 24 hours of notification to agree logical and practical procedures. Eastwell’s service centre is remains manned until 8pm Mon-Fri and our ‘out of hours’ capability has been enhanced and opening times extended. Eastwell claim volumes anticipated to increase next week, following completion of structural drying. If required, additional capacity available to ensure continued service delivery in line with SLA’s.
Inspector Field Force Claim numbers remain high however, there are no capacity issues and where accessible, all visits are being arranged / offered within SLA’s. |
