Following the thaw last week, the Met Office has issued warnings of heavy snow in parts of Wales, the West Midlands, London and southern England although not as severe as experienced over the last three weeks. Elsewhere, outbreaks of patchy light rain or sleet are expected. A cold night is forecast for most, with some icy patches forming especially across northern areas leaving some areas exposed to hazardous driving conditions. Today the Environment Agency has issued 6 flood warnings, 2 in the Midlands and 4 in the Northeast. Full details of the current flood warnings can found at the following link: http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/floods/31618.aspx
In response to the adverse weather experienced, the Davies Group can advise as follows:
Davies Loss Adjusting Whilst access to most areas is now clear, access to many villages, small towns and back roads will be hazardous should we experience further snowfall. Claims due to burst pipes and localised flooding being received with claim volumes anticipated to increase. Additional resources remain focused where required and weekend working agreed where necessary. All visits (where accessible) are being arranged within SLA’s and continued efforts remain concentrated on effective and timely mitigation activity.
Davies Managed Systems & BVU (Buildings Validation Unit) Claim volumes have reduced to near “normal” levels since last week but our surge response plan remains active with additional staff authorised for weekend working to tackle the increased WIP around non-new claim activity. Our present focus remains around the new claims process, inbound call traffic and managing existing caseloads. Anticipated that claim volumes may increase this week therefore additional staffing resource to support the additional workload is available to ensure compliance with agreed service levels.
Eastwell (Contractor Management) & Davies Response (Disaster Restoration) Claim volumes have increased however response times for both Eastwell & Davies Response continue to remain within SLA’s. Access to properties is now unhindered however further snowfall may again restrict access to some remote villages. In such areas, customers will be contacted and prioritised immediately when access is possible. Options continue to be offered to meet adjusting, inspection and/or drying personnel on site within 24 hours of notification to agree logical and practical procedures. Eastwell’s service centre is currently operating its normal business hours from 8am until 6pm Mon-Fri and our ‘out of hours’ capability has been enhanced and opening times extended. If required, additional capacity available to ensure continued service delivery in line with SLA’s.
Inspector Field Force Claim numbers continue to remain high however, there are no capacity issues and where accessible, all visits are being arranged / offered within SLA’s. |
